Business Card Holder for a Desk: Where It Belongs and What to Check
A business card holder works best when people can find it quickly and it does not take over the writing area.
Business cards are easy to scatter among notes, sample materials and incoming papers. A holder gives them a clear place, especially on a desk used for introductions or client meetings. The best location depends on who needs to reach the cards.
Decide who the holder serves
If visitors take your card, position the holder on the visitor-facing side of the desk, within easy reach but away from drinks. If it stores cards you collect, keep it on your working side and separate new contacts from those already entered into your records. A single holder is rarely a good filing system for both jobs.
Fit it into the desk layout
A card holder should not block the writing pad, keyboard or sight line across the desk. Test the placement while seated and while standing where a visitor would stand. On a narrow counter, a small group of essential accessories is easier to navigate than a full set displayed edge to edge.
